Background
Prashobhan Palakkeel, PhD.
Passionate teacher and researcher with 20 years of experience. I am currently working as an assistant professor and area chair of artificial intelligence and business analytics at the Amrita School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. https://www.amrita.edu/faculty/p-palakkeel/
I have done my doctoral research on the topic of monetary policy transmission at the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bangalore, and received my PhD degree from the University of Mysore. Previously, I received an MPhil in economics and an MS in applied econometrics from the Central University of Pondicherry. I have a diploma in computer applications from the MCNU.
For over a decade, I have been instructing and coaching individuals in the realm of business analytics. I have developed the curriculum and instructed several master's-level courses, encompassing subjects such as machine learning, multivariate statistics, time series analysis and forecasting, natural language processing, data visualization, and communication. Additionally, I have taught practical courses in management domains such as financial analytics, HR analytics, marketing analytics, and supply chain analytics. I have instructed classes on statistics and structural equation modeling specifically for the doctoral program.
Personal life
I am married and have a daughter.

· Good understanding about research methodology, applied econometrics and statistical methods and machine learning algorithms
· Sound knowledge about macroeconomics and Indian monetary system.
· Statistical programming using R and Python
· Ability to work with various econometric and statistical packages like SAS, STATA, SPSS, EViews, MATLAB, etc.
· Spreadsheet: MS Excel, RDBMS: Oracle Data base 11g Express Edition
· Attended SAP training in ERP as a trainer: SAP S/4 HANA
Institution-Building Activities
· Played a critical role in establishing business analytics specialization as a full-fledged stream for the MBA course at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus.
· Developed, streamlined, and implemented many courses in the field of business analytics which include Introductory statistics with R, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, HR Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Supply Chain Analytics, Financial Analytics, An Introduction to RDBMS and SQL and Basics of Python for Analytics.
· Helped in signing MOU with GENPACT and getting experts from the industry to teach analytics courses.
· Actively involved in getting high quality internship and placement opportunities for the students who are specializing in business analytics.

Interests
When I'm not working, I enjoy gardening, traveling to new places, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. I am also passionate about agriculture and listen regularly to the new ventures and successful stories of farmers.
